The Kāpiti AED Trust
Assisting communities to have AED’s in their area
The Kapiti AED Trust, together with Wellington Free Ambulance run regular courses in Kapiti. Courses can be held for groups or organisations by arrangement. The next course dates are still to be confirmed, but will be held in the months of April and October 2018.
When a person suffers a cardiac arrest, the sooner the heart rhythm can be restored using an AED, the greater their chances of survival.
If good effective CPR is being performed and defibrillation using an AED is given within a few minutes of cardiac arrest, then a normal heartbeat can be restored in approximately 75% of cardiac arrest victims. Find out how you can get an AED in your community
There are currently eight AED's located around Kapiti, and we are updating this page regularly to keep up with new installations as they happen. AED's save lives, but they need to be close by.
